If you’re experiencing increased aches and pains this winter, a heating pad may be the simple solution you didn’t know you needed. Heating pads provide targeted relief to sore muscles – especially for common problem areas like the lower back and hips. In general, they are useful for pain that comes from daily activities, such as a physically demanding workload or from bending over a desk.

For those of us who spend our days sitting, often not in Best office chairsA heating pad can help relieve stress and discomfort without spending a lot. They are affordable, easy to use and perfect for relaxing in the colder months. Plus, this high-quality heating pad makes a practical gift that anyone will appreciate.

Most heating pads provide some relief from joint pain, neck pain, and back pain — and can also help with arthritis and spasms. To clarify, if you are suffering from back pain and do not know the cause, you should consult your doctor. Trust me, you don’t want to leave random pain untreated for too long.

However, let’s take a look at what we can use to relieve some of the pain and pressure.

This is a large heating pad that you can wrap around problem areas. I switched to this brand for more even heating (avoiding the hot and cold spots that cause problems with electric heaters). The control panel lets you choose automatic shut-off or constant heat until you’re ready for a break. Additionally, you can unplug the cord and throw the soft microfiber pillow into the washing machine to freshen it.

I have an injured sciatic nerve that likes to flare up when I sit too much. While working from home, I tend to find myself deeply involved in a project and not standing up as much as I should, which leads to some pain. When this happens, I know I need to use the easy-to-use Sunbeam heating pad I’ve had for a few years now.
It is very reliable and has multiple temperature settings to control the amount of heat it releases. It’s available in a few different sizes, but I chose one of the medium sizes to cover more of my back at one time to help relieve my back pain. It has a fabric pillowcase, which has stayed clean throughout the years I’ve used it.

During lockdown, I bought one of these for myself so I can work more comfortably from bed. Then I got two more to give as gifts to people who didn’t know they needed them. Now I can’t live without this convenient portable support.

I purchased a Sunbeam heating pad because, for me, the most important feature of a heating pad is the ability to turn it off automatically. I’m good at taking painkillers, putting on a heating pad, and sleeping. Not the safest way to live. So it’s good to know that my heating pad will automatically turn off after 2 hours of use. This model fits well everywhere, distributes heat well and I don’t have to worry about it being unsafe just because I fell asleep.

I should spend the extra money and get a wired heating pad, but I don’t feel like I use it enough to be worth it. When I have back pain, I use this microwavable pillow to help soothe it. Just place it in the microwave and let it cool naturally on your body. The rice and flax seeds inside were able to retain the heat for about 10 minutes, which seemed long enough for my back to stop hurting. Your results may vary.

I’ve always suffered from periods of back pain, largely due to poor posture and sitting too much at computer desks. Since I started doing full-body strength training and Pilates at home with Apple Fitness Plus, not only am I fitter and healthier without the hassle of going to the gym, but back pain is rarely an issue for me. The subscription will cost you $10 per month or $80 per year for up to five family members.
