Deion Sanders recently revealed that he had blood clots and was undergoing surgery
according to ESPNOn Saturday, October 4, Deion Sanders revealed to the public that he believes he is “dealing with blood clots again.” During a press conference, the 58-year-old explained that it was “hurting like crazy” and he wasn’t “getting blood” on his legs, so his legs were “throbbing.”
per CBS NewsOn Tuesday, October 7, Sanders revealed that he was scheduled to have surgery to address the issue. However, he has indicated that he is not planning to miss Colorado Buffalo’s collegiate practice, which is apparently scheduled for sometime on Wednesday, October 8.
“It’s better, I’ll be back tomorrow because I don’t miss practice,” he explained before speaking about his condition. “It has nothing to do with me working at the level I’m trying to compete at. It’s genetic. It is what it is.”

Deion Sanders reveals blood clot surgery is 16th in last three years as footage shows Karrueche Tran alongside him
according to USA Todayit was later confirmed that Deion Sanders would undergo “aspiration thrombectomy of the left and tibial arteries.” Simplified, this means Sanders will undergo surgery to remove clots from his left leg. It should be noted that this is the same leg where Sanders previously underwent a toe amputation and partial removal of his calf.
Additionally, on the morning of Wednesday, October 8, a carousel was shared to Sanders’ Instagram account, showing him in a hospital bed — but all smiles alongside his son, Deion Jr. , as well as former NFL player Adam “Pacman” Jones.
To note, Sanders also documented this latest surgery in a video uploaded to the media’s YouTube channel. About 16 minutes into the clip, he revealed that this was his 16th surgery in the “last three years.” Additionally, footage showed that Sanders’ rumored girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, was by his side for the big day.
