Thales, Radial and Foxconn discusses the production of semiconductors

The French Defense Group, the French Mosul and the Radial Poor maker, and the Taiwan -based Foxconn, started initial discussions to consider the creation of an facility to produce semiconductors in France.

The proposed project aims to develop an industrial capacity in the field of assembly and the semiconductor testing of external sources.

This cooperation aims to develop an annual production capacity of more than 100 million systems in the SIP units (SIP) by 2031.

The facility is expected to address the advanced packaging markets for European space, cars, space communications and defense, while combining other European industrial investors.

In a press release, Foxconn said: “With this development, Foxconn deepens its industrial experience and global design, enhancing the flexibility of the supply chain and making major investments in new companies.”

No details have been revealed about potential sites inside France or a timetable for final investment decisions by companies.
