Thailand Cambodia was accused of “intentionally” a violation of the ceasefire, on Monday, the two countries agreed to end the border clashes that killed at least 33 people and explained thousands.
It is a shaky start to a ceasefire, which aims to put an end to five days of bombing and missile attacks along its common border.
The Thai army says it stopped shooting after midnight, but he continued to get a shooting from the Cambodian side “in multiple locations” until this morning.
But the Cambodia Ministry of Defense told the news agency to Agence France -Presse that there were no “armed confrontations” between the two sides since it began a ceasefire in the middle of the night.
Despite the accusations, meetings between local leaders from both sides were held earlier on Tuesday as part of the ceasefire agreement. They agreed to stop shooting and stop the movement of the forces on the front lines. They will also allow each other to collect their dead.
Tensions between Southeast Asian countries swollen on the disputed border a century in May when a Kambodi soldier was killed in a clash.
They escalated to a widespread struggle last week after five Thai soldiers were injured in a ground brown explosion. Thailand closed some border crossings, expelled the Cambodian Ambassador and summoned Bennah.
After the two sides exchanged fire at early Thursday, Cambodia fired several missiles to Thailand, killing many civilians.
More civilians died on both sides in the following days, and tens of thousands of shelters were evacuated.
The extensive exchanges of fire between the two armies continued until midnight on Monday, the deadline for the ceasefire, as Thailand fired more air strikes on the Cambodian sites.
But on Tuesday morning, before Thailand claimed that the ceasefire had been violated, the Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Manit said that “the front lines had been eased” since midnight.
Under the ceasefire agreement, both sides aim to withdraw their armies and accept a kind of independent monitoring to prevent more clashes.
Hun Manit and his Thai counterpart Foumetham and Yuhayahayi met Monday in Malaysia at a driver meeting by its leader Anwar Ibrahim.
Cambodia was parked for a ceasefire and its leader described it as a “very good meeting.”
Thailand, who was initially hesitant to negotiate, agreed to the talks after US President Donald Trump threatened to stop negotiations on definitions until Thailand and Cambodia stopped fighting.
Relations between Thailand and Cambodia took the worse in 2008 when Cambodia tried to record the eleventh century temple located in the disputed region as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a move that was met with a hot protest from Thailand.
Over the years there were intermittent clashes that witnessed the soldiers and civilians who were killed on both sides.
When tensions rose in May, the relationship between the two countries reached its lowest point in more than a decade.
In the past two months, both countries have imposed restrictions on the border on each other. Cambodia banned imports from Thailand, such as fruits and vegetables, and stopped importing energy and Internet services.
Both countries also strengthened the presence of their forces along the border in recent weeks.
