Border conflicts are long -term issues that have caused periodic tensions between neighbors. Thailand and Cambodia share more than 800 km (500 miles) of the wild border. Competitive claims greatly stem from the map of 1907 drawn under the French colonial ruling that was used to separate the Cambodia from Thailand.
