Below is an interview with Representative Michael McCall, the Republican in Texas, which was broadcast on “confronting the nation with Margaret Brennan” on June 29, 2025.
Margaret Brennan: We are now joined by a member of the Republican Congress in Texas Michael McCole, good morning to you.
representative. Michael McCall: Good morning. Thanks for hosting me.
Margaret Brennan: So, your Republican fellow Senate was working hard to try to collect this law together, and they may go to the past.
representative. Michael McCall: Right.
Margaret Brennan: But this is even with legislators like Tom Teleles that they cannot offer what he will do with Medicid, estimated at $ 930 billion. This is more important than all of you voted in the House of Representatives. Will you vote again for the final passage if it seems like this?
representative. McCall: No, I will vote for him for this reason. I think these numbers are, everything about waste, fraud, and ill -treatment in Medicare, Medicaid. What I vote for is border security management, $ 80 billion, $ 12 billion to pay states like Lee. I will vote for $ 150 billion, you will go to our Ministry of Defense at a time when we saw it with Iran, strongly required. The world is burning, Eastern Europe, India and the Pacific. Then tax cuts. I mean, if we do not extend these tax cuts, it will be the largest tax increase in the American history of these three reasons. I am yes. I think every person in the House of Representatives, and they know the danger if they vote on this thing.
Margaret Brennan: What do you mean by dangers?
representative. Mogol: I think, first and foremost, it’s good for the nation. Second, they know that their jobs are in danger. Not only from the president, but from the vote- the American people. Our base in the homeland will not stand out to the office if we vote on this.
Margaret Brennan: But is it related to his re -election, or is it related to policies, right?
representative. Mukoul: No. It is a great thing for the country, and it has made clear the three higher points.
Margaret Brennan: But to help me understand this, you have such tight margins in the House of Representatives, and you look at these expectations such as the committee for the responsible federal budget, they say it violates the instructions of the House of Representatives with an amount of $ 500 billion or more, and what the Senate has set here, and that the deficit may rise more than 3 trillion dollars. How can you get it when you have a conservative financial hawks and say, I can’t get this, like Chip Roy?
representative. McCall: Not entering the weeds on the economy, but the dynamic registration is not taken into account here by the Congress Budget Office. This means that when you reduce taxes, you actually get revenue to the cabinet. This is something we saw under President Kennedy, under President Reagan, and President Bush crossed.
Margaret Brennan: Cheeb Roy and some of these other financial conservatives will come on the trip?
representative. McCall: Well, I think at the end of the day, I think they will vote for him.
Margaret Brennan: You are doing. Let’s talk about some of the threats I mentioned there, at home and abroad. You have been informed of the actions against Iran. The Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency here told us that Iran has capabilities and can be launched within months. Do you think it is an exaggeration by the White House or a mistake in declaring the mission made?
representative. McCall: Well, first and foremost, I respect the International Atomic Energy Agency. Their mission is to examine not to be an intelligence agency, so they do not really have a clear intelligence analysis because I will attribute it to our intelligence community, such as the CIA. We met with director Ratcliffe. It was not only his decision. These are the profession and intelligence officers who were at the CIA for more than 30 years, which conducted this evaluation that it was severely damaged and restored a program until years later. However, the world and the Middle East are safer today than it was seven days ago, a week ago. The fact that agents did not shine. Russia did not come to help them. China mainly ran for coverage. Iran, on its own and psychological, is very damaged. Determination is real. The damage is real. This is a brilliant military operation, which I have not seen since my father’s war, World War II.
Margaret Brennan: So, on the homeland, do you refuse these concerns about threats? You have the advisory system for national terrorism, which says there is an increasing threat environment in the United States. After the strikes, there were federal agents arrested 11 foreign citizens from Iran, including the person who had ties with Hezbollah. Have you seen specific evidence of any type of threat here in the United States, or is it, as you say, were only done?
representative. Mekool: No, I have. We picked up 11 Iranians, one of whom is a sniper, one IRGC, another, a well -known suspected terrorist during the past two days.
Margaret Brennan: Were they planning to do anything, or only did they have these alliances from the past?
representative. McCall: As you know, I do not know all the details, but I will tell you that the FBI briefed me in defensive surrounding after the killing of Solimani. I was part of that-
representative. Model:-In 2020-
Margaret Brennan: – I was under an accusation in Iran and that I was in that upper target list. So, you know, is it imminent? I don’t know. We have to take seriously that there are sleeper cells in the United States, which can pursue people like Mike Pompeo and John Bolton, as you know- I know and others who participated in making decisions, including the President of the United States. We know that it was targeted.
Margaret Brennan: When it comes to detaining migrants here in the United States, it is highly detained 59,000, according to ICE. 47 % of them, though, lack a criminal record, may be convicted of less than 30 % of crimes. This does not appear that the numbers- these are not the worst.
representative. McCall: Yes, I was a federal prosecutor for many years. Anti -terrorism. You have to prioritize, right? I would like to give priority to the strict criminals that allowed my mailas, in a challenge to federal law. He was holding. He said, he may be held and let them go out to the streets. I would like to give it first.
Margaret Brennan: So, you prefer to give her internal security priority and not manage the numbers as they are in this-
representative. McCall: I think they are running the numbers because between 15 to 20 million people have been subjected to the Biden administration, and they are trying to involve some reason in the United States. I think deterrence is the key here. And Margaret, it works. As you know, the average anxiety on the border, and Texas is the largest rate, it has almost decreased to zero. I mean, the borders revolve around safe, hunting and release ended, and threats disappear.
Margaret Brennan: Mike McCoul, a member of Congress, thank you very much for seeing you today.
representative. Mogol: Thank you, Margaret, thanks for hosting me.
Margaret Brennan: We will return with more confrontation with the nation. Stay with us.
