An arrest affidavit showed that 17-year-old Aubrey VanLandingham, who competes in livestock shows with her goat, admitted to poisoning Willie, a younger goat. CBS Austin reported.
VanLandingham is accused of using a douse gun to force-feed Willie a toxic pesticide inside the Vista Ridge High School barn facility on Oct. 23, ultimately killing the 6-month-old goat, according to the outlet. Security footage allegedly showed the goat trying to escape the confrontation.
The teen was allegedly seen leaving Willie and returning to check on him on two separate occasions within a two-hour period before calling the rival competitor’s mother to tell her the goat was not doing well.

Vanlandingham was charged with cruelty to animals, It is a felony in Texas punishable by up to two years in prison. Jail records show she was arrested on November 22 and released on $5,000 bail the same day.
Her trial date is set for January 15.
