Lucas Raymond and Mika Zebiangad also scored for hosts, while Denmark got the goals from Nick Olsen and Nicolage Eleers.

Despite the loss, it was a championship to remember Denmark.

The Danes opened the competing with three consecutive losses and pressed in the quarter-finals through Germany 2-1 in an exchange of fire in the final group game.

Denmark scored two goals in the last 2 minutes of their match in the quarter-finals to defeat Canada 2-1, and to eliminate them from the IIHF World Championship.
