Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square performed episode 5000 of a long student Mormons Music Program Sunday, on the occasion of a huge milestone since it started nearly 100 years ago.
The Church of Jesus Christ stated in the last days in a joint statement with Fox News Digital that the “Music and the Walk Word” broadcast was implemented at the Conference Center at Salt Lake City, Utah. More than 11,500 people attended.
The program started on July 15, 1929, just months before the great depression started.
LDS Church said that “music and spoken word” is the longest consecutive broadcast of its kind. More than 6 million people listen to broadcast every week.
Volunteer Heidi Swinton indicated that the program has survived many disasters over the years, including the Great Depression and Covid-19 PandeMic.
