Spirits in Kyiv, after Russia’s heavier locks for weeks

One day, KYIV can feel away from the confrontation line. But at night, the war waves great.

In the morning peak hour, traffic along the Dnipro River bridge is heavy and slow as people try to reach work and reach their daily lives.

During the night, often, air alarm sirens explode. Most of the time, people look at their phones and then decide their action plan, depending on the threat.

Last night, the monitoring channels such as Telegram alerted Kyiv’s residents to a heavy attack that is likely to involve not only the drone but also missiles.

It is not always accurate, but this time the alarm siren has rang and people listen.

The gentle gun of the air defenses intercepted drones and the missiles is the soundtrack for most of the night. People can sleep through them.

But then, around 03:00, there was a loud explosion – a missile sound that hit a building. It was enough to wake people all over the city.

People made their way to the shelter. Often, we can hear Whirr from a drone. Then the light was filled, as some were dropped and fell from the sky.

After the big explosion that woke up, we can see huge columns of smoke on the horizon.

This, as we know now, was the strike in the Dennitsky region on the left bank in Kiev.

Russia was hit at least one night, on the night that Russia fired nearly 600 drones and more than 30 missiles, according to the Ukrainian army.

Missiles and drones were recorded in 13 different locations, and the deadly Darnytskyi attack was the most deadly.

Upon we arrive at the site on Wednesday morning, we can see our effects for ourselves.

The missile broke out in the middle of the low block of apartments; The five floors completely collapsed as they were struck.

Rescue workers were climbing on the rubble – some of which were still burning.

In the neighborhood, Irina Kozsko was sitting on a chair, and her mobile phone to her ear.

Since 03:30, she tried to contact her mother Liopov. Every time you call it, only ring.

“You never think it will be your home that hit,” she says. Her mother did not want to go to the shelter. She was walking slower than Erina, so I decided to light up the corridor.

“These attacks are very harsh,” says Irina. “They are happening at a time when people sleep and you cannot get your lawyers.”

“They attack everything together – missiles and martyrs (drones). They all attack at the same time. It is impossible to live like this.”

“This is a pure example of terrorist attack,” he tells me. “This is Russia’s response to all our peace proposals and all our peace efforts.”

The number of deaths in Kyiv has risen all day, With at least 21 killing, including four children.

Oksana Rumik, 54, and her husband, Mikhailo, survived the missile strike on the mass of apartments, but their golden Volvo car was shrapnel.

“I cannot,” she says, unable to end her punishment when I was asked about the Russian strikes.

Her husband believes that the only way for peace is without Vladimir Putin.

“If there are negotiations and peace, then Putin (cannot) be president,” he says.
