Spacex gets a green light for more than twice its launch in Florida

The most dangerous missile in the world may start to fly more.

American organizers have completed a major environmental review that paves the way for Spacex to more than twice the number of Falcon 9 launches from the Cape Canaveral station in Florida.

In addition to increasing the annual launch from 50 at all to 120, the environmental review of the Federal Aviation Administration also agreed to a new landing area on the site that can accommodate up to 34 enhanced declines per year. These reinforcements are the reusable parts of the first stage of the Falcon 9 missiles that land Spacex and the renewal of future flights.

The review, which was completed on Wednesday, found what is known as “the mitigating result that there is no major influence”, which means that the proposed changes “will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment” under Federal Law, with low effects through specific preventive measures.

These measures include obtaining additional environmental permits before building new facilities, using a marine turtle lighting at night, and conducting pre -construction surveys in Florida rubbing Jay and East Ni -Ni -Malia to ensure the protection of wildlife.

With regard to water management, the review concluded that it is unlikely to have industrial wastewater – specifically the huge amounts of water unloaded by the flooding system during the launch – for drainage in the nearby water.

The flooding system, which sponsors huge amounts of water on the launch plate while taking off to absorb heat and sound from missile engines, was controversial. At the SPACEX StarBase launch site in Texas, environmental groups filed a lawsuit against local organizers for licenses that allow the company to drain the industrial wastewater from the plate.

Environmental approval on Wednesday is only one step in this process. Spacex still needs FAA to formally amend the launch license to allow higher launch numbers. The Ministry of Air Force must also approve the changes because the launch plate is on the space of space force.

Approval paves the way for Spacex to continue its direction of increasing the launch of Falcon 9 every year. The release frequency has increased sharply in recent years, as it started from 60 launch operations annually in 2022 to 132 in 2024.

Although the most absolute missile in the world, Spacex still has a crowded statement. It is absolutely running for commercial clients, the Ministry of Defense, and Starlink Internet. The increase should be reduced from this bottleneck. The dedicated landing area can also limit the supportive shift, as the company will not need to rely on the beach on a drone frequently.

The decision is part of a much more multi -site batch by Spacex to increase the release rhythm. The company is also looking to expand on the West Coast, with plans to launch up to 100 Falcon per year from Vandenberg’s space in California. Meanwhile, the organizers are also reviewing a proposal that would allow an increase in the launch of Starship – the largest SPACEX missile that designed the tasks of the moon and Mars – of both Texas and Florida.
