South Korea has finished talking with the United States for the release of Korean workers

A presidential official said on Sunday that South Korea has just concluded talks with the United States to release the Korean workers detained in Georgia.

Kang Hoon Seick, President of the Presidential Staff, said in televised notes that the plane will be on its way to return the Koreans once the administrative procedures are completed.

American Federal agents carried out a raid in a car manufacturing facility in Hyundai, Georgia this week, in the largest enforcement operation in one locations in the history of investigations into the Ministry of Internal Security.

Most of the hundreds of detainees were Korean citizens.

South Korea recently reached a major trade agreement with the United States, which includes a US fund worth $ 350 billion to help Korean companies enter the US market.

US President Donald Trump may visit South Korea in October to gather the Economic and Pacific Economic Cooperation event, CNN reported on Saturday, citing three Trump administration officials.

The South Korean official said on Sunday that the government will be looking for ways to improve the visa system for Korean workers traveling to the United States “to prevent a similar incident.”
