The icon of Tottenham Hong Min described his farewell on Sunday as a “perfect moment” after he had ended in the end of his career for a decade in front of the home fans in South Korea.

The 33-year-old striker was clearly emotional during a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in Seoul, which led to the collapse of crying when he received a standing applause and the honorary guard of the players on both sides when it was replaced after an hour.

“It was an ideal moment,” the son told Tottenham’s official website.

“Sharing these beautiful moments is something that I will never forget and I will always appreciate that – fans, players and reptiles.

“I understood my situation and he was always on my side. He always listened to me and asked what I wanted to do. I have great respect and I am very grateful.”

Thinking about the ten years he spent in northern London, the son wished the club only success in the future.

“I wish them all the best. There are five competitions in the future and I hope they win all the five competitions. This is my wish.

“Tottenham will always be in my heart and children will always be in history books. It was great.

“They went very quickly, the ten years. I can only think about the beautiful moments, amazing moments.”

Sun Tottenham leaves as one of the great club greats, after he scored more than 150 goals since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, and he won the Premier League Golden Boys and took his team to his first cup 17 years ago.
