Scotland coach Steve Clark saluted a “solid start” for his team after a 2-0 victory over Belarus I kept them not defeated in the World Cup qualifiers.
The completion of the instinct from Chi Adams and a goal in the second half was caffeine for the Scots to win a game they controlled.
Scotland is located behind Denmark only with one goal after two games with two home matches – but Clark is still cautious because it has been chasing the first World Cup finals since 1998.
He said: “It was a difficult night. We continued to urge, and we did what we wanted to do.
“It’s a good start, a strong start. It will never qualify you for anything. It is good to return home with a smile on your face, but I am already thinking next month.
“Billy (Gilmour) and Ben (Ganon Dwak) are two players who excite the audience. My job is to choose a team to win the game. Both were good.
“Clean papers are what we have to build our campaign.”
Scotland captain Andy Robertson felt that the opening match of Adams – his tenth for his country – was the key to winning.
He said, “This has been done. This is the best way to describe it.
“We knew that they would try to be safer and more defensive. We just had to be patient and we got the goal in the perfect time before the first half.
“We could have more, but a good job.”
