according to HipHopDXJudge Arnold, the prosecuting attorneys, and A$AP’s attorneys, Joe TacopinaThey met for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, January 15. During the hearing, the judge can be heard asking the lawyers how to refer to Rihanna during the case.
“Is she his girlfriend or his wife?” The judge appears to be asking in the circulating footage.
In response, Tacopina explained that Reh is Rocky’s “common law wife…or just ‘wife.'” The judge seemed open to referring to Reh as the defense’s suggestion.
However, at that point, the plaintiffs intervened to voice their disagreement.
“They are not legally married (so) we would prefer that she not be referred to as his wife, but only referred to as his significant other or (the mother of his children),” one plaintiff explained.
Ultimately, the judge appeared to be swayed by the defense’s objection and asserted that if Rih and Rocky were not “legally married anywhere,” she would not be referred to as his wife.
