Shubman Gill has been recalled by Gujarat Titans in the Rs 450-crore scam

Team India star Shubman Gill has been summoned by the Gujarat CID Crime Branch. Reports have emerged that Gill was involved in a Rs 450-crore scam. Along with Gil, three other players from Gujarat Titans Summons have been issued. These include Sai Sudarshan, Mohit Sharma And Rahul Tewatia.

Why was Shubman Gill called?

According to reports, Shubman Gill Invested Rs 1.95 crore in Bhupendrasinh Zala’s Ponzi scheme. This made him one of the biggest investors among the cricketers involved. Others reportedly invested smaller amounts. Despite these allegations, investigators are yet to find a direct link between Zala, Shubman Gill and other cricketers. As of now, Shopman is in Sydney with Indian team.

Officials seized unofficial financial records during the raids and are examining transactions linked to Zala companies. The main entities under suspicion include BZ Financial Services and BZ Traders.

Speaking to Ahmedabad Mirror, a CID official said: “If Zala is found guilty, strict action will follow. Teams are combing through his accounts to assess the extent of the fraud.”

Details of the Zala Ponzi scheme

Zala is a resident of Himatnagar in Gujarat. He allegedly defrauded 11,000 investors through his Ponzi schemes. Reports claim that he has been doing this for four years now. He initially paid customers but once trust was built, the payments stopped. Use the money to buy assets worth Rs. 100 crores for himself.

Zala operates through various entities such as BZ Financial Services and BZ Traders. It attracted investors by promising exorbitant returns of up to 36% per annum. After weeks on the run, Zala was arrested in Mohsana on December 27, 2024. He remained in detention until January 4, 2025.

Shubman Gill is currently online Australia He is likely to feature in the Sydney Test. He will not face any immediate legal action. However, Gujarat CID may summon him later after performing his national duty. Rumors have surfaced about him being unavailable for the Sydney Test but they are all false so far.
