On Thursday, October 9th. Fox 8 Footage has been released showing an inside look at the house where Derek Groves, the man who escaped from a New Orleans prison with nine others in May, was found hiding. According to the outlet, the home’s owner, Richard McQueen, allowed reporters access to the “looted” space.
Furthermore, additional footage showed that the outlet’s reporter, Gabby Kellett, spoke with McQueen as she walked through the property. He reportedly explained that he had rented the house to a young woman; However, it seems that he did not get much information regarding her background.
Meanwhile, when Kellett spoke to one of her neighbors, who apparently lives across the street from McQueen’s house, she didn’t hold back with her humorous reaction to the whole ordeal.

The city SWAT team then raided the home and used gas and K-9s to take out Groves.
now, Fox 8 Reports indicate that investigators are searching for those who helped Groves evade.
βWe know that Groves would not have been able to be there as long as he was without assistance from others,β New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick told the outlet. “The investigation remains open regarding those who aided because aiding and abetting is a crime. There are persons of interest, and it will be followed up with the persons charged.”
Meanwhile, Derek Groves was extradited to Louisiana, but was booked into the Louisiana State Penitentiary, a maximum security prison.
All ten fugitives from Orleans Parish returned to Louisiana.
