Several feared dead after car crashes into crowd of people on busy Bourbon Street: report

Several people are feared dead after a car struck a group of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, according to authorities.

The driver reportedly got out of the vehicle and fired a weapon. There were reports of a large police presence at the scene.

“A mass casualty incident occurred at Canal and Bourbon Street. Stay away from the area,” NOLA Ready announced on social media.

The accident happened at approximately 3:15 a.m. at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville, the local news station. WGNO reported.

The authorities did not confirm the number of victims involved in the accident.
