Seamus Coleman signs an extension with Everton, who is 17 years old with Toffees

Captain Everton Simos Coleman committed to the seventeenth season with the club after agreeing to extend a one -year contract.

The 36 -year -old right -back, who joined Toffees in 2009, became a great server during his long term at Goodison Park.

Coleman appeared in 428 games in all competitions in Everton, and its manifestations in the 369 Premier League are the most by any player in the club’s history.

“I love Everton until I continue to play in this private club, I mean everything for me and my family,” said Ireland International.

“Like each of our enthusiastic fans, I lived and breathed what was difficult in the past few years of the club and put my heart and soul in doing everything I can help us overcome it.”

His previous contract ended at the end of June, but the new deal guarantees that Coleman will be part of Everton’s transfer to his new home at the Hill Decinson after 133 years in Godison Park.

He added: “Thanks to the hard work of many people, we were able to reach our wonderful new stadium and pave the way for a brighter future under new owners, which I want to be part of.”

“After a disappointing time with injuries last season, it will be my focus on hard work, spending the largest possible time on the field, and helping Everton in any possible way.”

Coleman was limited to only five games in the league during the 2024-25 season due to injuries. Despite his time on the sidelines, he played a leadership role outside the field, briefly entered the temporary management alongside the U18s Leightton Baines coach after the dismissal of Sean Dish in January.

“His leadership, professionalism and humanity is not up to it,” said David Moyes, the director of Everton, who originally signed Coleman of Silgo Rovers for 60,000 pounds in 2009.

It helped carry the club during some difficult periods in the past few years and its effect in the dressing room was the key to that.

“This could be a period of real change in the club and I want someone who can help in delivering messages what it means to be a soccer player from Everton. Seamus has always done so and I know that he will continue to do this while moving to a new era.”
