Zeroda company, co -founder, Niten Kamat, once again raised the alert to the growing diabetes epidemic in India, and this time she welcomes the direction of CBSE for schools to prepare “sugar panels” to monitor and reduce sugar intake for students.
“This is a step in the right direction,” Kathath wrote on X, acknowledged this step with a reference to the biggest challenge: how to make parents care.
Kamta’s interest exceeds school canteens. He stressed the need to curb consumption on a large scale of sugary soft drinks, tea, coffee, full drinks, chocolate and sweets-and all of the foodstuffs full of sugar in Indian families.
This call to work is part of the broader Kamath campaign that highlights the diabetes crisis in India.
With more than 21 crimes of Indians who now live with diabetes, the country holds the dark title for the world of diabetes in the world. Kathath described it as a “time bomb”, and warned of the absence of a fortified social class and that the disease draws the attention of younger Indians at disturbing rates. He pointed to data that it was found that an Indian urban woman, 20, today has a lifetime risk of 64.6 % of diabetes, while young people face a risk of 55.5 %.
Kathath notes that the real danger lies in the silent spread: approximately 28 % of diabetics in India are unaware, and the majority of those struggle who have been diagnosed to provide appropriate treatment. With less than 20 % of the Indians covered by health insurance, the burden falls significantly on families.
For a male, there is no magic bullet. It calls for a set of public awareness, insurance for weak groups, early detection, and a simple daily lifestyle adjustments such as walking a few additional minutes or reducing stable time.
