The attacks were left within two hours from each other in Graz and Nof

He left two horrific attacks within two hours of each other, in France and Austria, parents and governments are ranging and in losing how to protect school students from random and deadly violence.

At approximately 08:15 on Tuesday, a 14 -year -old boy took out from an ordinary family in Nougant, east of France, the kitchen knife while examining a school bag and challenging an assistant at school.

It was not long later in southeast Austria, was 21 years old, who left the school three years ago, went to the Dyrishengas High School in Graz at 09:43, and shot nine dead students and a teacher with GLOCK 19 pistol and rifles.

In both countries, there is a demand for solutions and a greater focus on young people who resort to such violence.

Austria has never witnessed a school attack on this range, but the French appeal occurred during a government program aimed at addressing growth in the crime of the knife.

The Austrians ask about arms laws and a failed regime

Police described Graz, which was called Austrian media as Arthur A, as a very introverted person, who had retreated to the virtual world.

His great passion was online shooting games, and he had social communications with other online players, according to Michael Lunegger, head of criminal investigations in Steria, the country in which it occurred.

A former student at Dreieschützengasse School, Arthur A failing to complete his studies.

When he arrives at school, put headphones and shooting glasses, before shooting seven minutes. Then he killed himself in the school bath.

He owned the two weapons legally, has passed a psychological test to have a license and had several sessions of weapons training earlier this year at the Graz Shooting Club.

This has sparked a major discussion in Austria on whether weapons laws are needed – and about the level of care available for troubled youth.

It appeared that the shooter was rejected by the compulsory military service in the country in July 2021.

Defense Ministry spokesman Michael Power told the BBC that Arthur turned out to be “psychologically inappropriate” for service after undergoing tests. But he said that the legal system of Austria prevented the army from passing the results of such tests.

There are now calls to change this law.

A map shows the Graz Center and where the school is in relationships with the railway station, which exceeds many railways and about 4 blocks.

Alex, the mother of a 17 -year -old boy who survived the fire, told the BBC that more should have been done to prevent people like Arthur from leaving school in the first place.

She said: “We know … that when people call each other like this, it is mostly when they feel lonely, leave and be abroad. We do not know how to return them, to society, to the groups of peers.”

“We, as adults, take responsibility for that, and we must take it now.”

President Alexander van der Beilin raised the possibility of tightening the Austrian arms laws, on a visit to Graz after the attack: “If we find a conclusion that Austria’s arms laws need a change to ensure more safety, we will do so.”

Austria has one of the most armed civilian population in Europe, with an estimated 30 firearms per 100 people.

Although there was a shooting for schools here before, she was much smaller and participated in much fewer victims.

Graz mayor, Elke Kahr, believes that no special person should be able to get weapons at all. “Weapons licenses are issued very quickly,” she told Orf TV. “The police should only carry weapons, not individuals.”

French focus on mental health as well as security

Security was narrow at the school in Nognt and the attack took place while searching for the bag

There was gendarmes armed at the entrance to Francois Dolito intermediate school in Nogant, 100 km (62 miles) east of Paris, when a teenager withdrew a kitchen knife of 20 cm and stabbed and repeatedly stabbed Mélanie G, who was 31 years old and has a four -year -old son.

The boy accused of carrying out the police murder told the police that he was reprimanded on Friday by another school assistant to kiss his girlfriend.

As a result, he had a grudging against school assistants in general, and it seemed that he had decided to kill one. Schools were closed on Monday for a banking holiday, and on Tuesday was its first day.

The initial evaluation of the public prosecutor was that the boy, who is called Quinin, came from an ordinary family working, and had no criminal or mental health record.

However, the child also seemed separate and emotionally. He was adept at violent video games, and showed “magic with death” and “the absence of reference points related to the value of human life.”

The NOGENT attack is not suitable for the anti -community crime template or gang violence in France so far.

There is no suggestion for indoctrination on social media.

According to the public prosecutor, the boy did not do a little. He was violent on two occasions against his fellow students, and was suspended for one day at a time.

There is no family collapse or deprivation, and school officials described it as “a social, very good student, which has been well integrated into the life of the institution.”

This year, he had won the title of “ambassador” to the bullying.

Despite all calls to achieve more security in schools, this crime was literally under the noses of the armed Gendarmes. Also, Interior Minister Bruno Ritayo said, some crimes will occur regardless of the number of police that he is deploying.

For more information about the boy’s mind, we must wait for a full psychology report, and there may be lost signs, or there are family details that we do not know yet.

On his face, it may be more lonely for the middle class, and his clear stabbing indicates that there is a crime resulting from internal mental processes, instead of the association or simulation that the peer drives.

I am astonished by killing Mélanie G in Notent all France

This is what strikes the tendon in France. If a normal boy can come out like this from watching a lot of violent videos, then who is the next?

Miscellaneous, the French government has just agreed to show the British Netflix series to adolescence as school aid.

There are differences, of course.

The boy is arrested by the arrest of the killing of a teenage girl in the television series, the evil effects “toxic males” on social media – but there is the same issue of teenagers who make him through isolation online.

Through the political spectrum, there are calls for work, but a little agreement on what should be a priority, and he hopes that nothing will happen with a big difference.

Before the killing, President Emmanuel Macron angered the right by saying that they were obsessed with the crime, and they were not interested in sufficiently with other issues such as the environment.

He put him on a nostent attack on the back foot, and he reiterated his pledge to ban social media on children under the age of 15.

But there are difficulties. The first is the practical application of this measure, which is theoretically dealt with by the European Union, but it succumbs to endless procrastination.

The other is that, according to the public prosecutor, the boy was not particularly interested in social media. The violent video games were something.

Prime Minister Francois Bayro said that knives to less than 15 years will be banned. But the boy took him from the house.

Bayro says that the airport compositions should be tested in schools, but most presidents oppose.

The populist right wants more strict sentences for teenagers carrying knives, and excluding the sabotage students from the normal layers.

But the boy in Nogant was not a child.

About the only measure that everyone says is required to provide more school doctors, nurses and psychologists in order to discover early signs of bars.

This, of course, will require a lot of money, which is something else that France does not have much.
