Palestinians celebrated in the streets of Khan Yunis in Gaza, after US President Donald Trump said that Israel and Hamas had agreed to the first phase of the peace agreement.
Under the agreement, Trump said that Israel would withdraw its forces to the “agreed upon line” and all remaining Israeli hostages would be released “very soon.”
Hamas officials and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the deal, although the timing remains unclear.
