Samsung OLED and Neo QLED TVs reduce glare and add more AI
The company also unveiled two concepts: a 3D TV and a MicroLED mirror display that analyzes your face.
Hey guys, Samsung will be launching a slew of new TVs in 2025. And there are new glare-free models. There are new frame TVs. They are even porting this art store to all other TVs. Lots of AI stuff too. We will check everything starting now. So I’ll start with my favorite innovation that Samsung has. It’s called glare-free screen technology. It’s not completely glare-free, but what it’s designed to do is improve image quality in bright rooms. So we tested this last year on their OLED TV. This year they also use it on the highest level OLED TV, but they also say that it is in short supply. This year, so we’ll see that in the lab. The idea is that it takes reflections, and reduces them, so they don’t distract you, especially if you have bright objects in the background of your room. Will not distract attention on the screen. So I really liked how it worked. They improved it this year. Glare Free is also available in an 83-inch screen size, so Samsung is expanding the size of its OLED TVs this year. Also new for 2025 is the new Frame Pro. So Samsung Frame TVs are a bit like a TV art shop. You turn it off and there are already pictures, artwork on the wall. Looks like a TV. This is the latest version of that. It actually has better picture quality than any other bezel-less TV. It uses small LEDs arranged around the edge. They say it uses local dimming too, so all I’m saying, I think it will have better picture quality than any framed TV before. It will also be much more expensive. And by the way, they put a wireless box on this TV to connect your devices without running all those wires to the back of the TV. This is the Pro framework. Another thing Samsung is doing with its tech store is making it available on frameless TVs. If you buy a Q70 level TV and above this year, you will be able to go there and buy paintings and other things from the art store, even if it is not a framed TV, and of course display it and get it so that the art is not a TV show or a movie. This is a new option available on Samsung TVs this year. Finally, Samsung is expanding their AI features to more TVs this year, so they’ve always had AI-powered picture enhancements that will still be there, but now they’re adding some other AI features. I’m not really convinced they’ll be better than the AI on the phone. But it’s very specific to television. For example, one of them is called Click to Search, so it will automatically identify actors or objects on the screen using AI. If you press a button. There is also an AI karaoke feature where you can use your phone as a microphone and it will play out the lyrics just like regular karaoke. Some of the other AI features they’re adding, none of them will really move the needle, and a lot of them are similar to what you find in AI in your phones. We’ll see how they perform later this year. Hey guys, that’s all about the TVs that will actually go on sale this year, but behind me you’ll see some TVs. These are concepts, so they won’t go on sale anytime soon, but they’re still pretty cool. One of them is a hollow display. So this thing is basically like a hologram. Pictures come out of the TV. I walked around and they actually disappear as you move away from the center. When you go to an extreme angle, you can see it coming back out again. So it’s a really cool effect on a personal level. I don’t know how much you can see it in the video here, but trust me, it’s a great 3D image. Another one is mirror view. It is a small LED mirror. They say it will likely be something you can buy next. It’s understandable at the moment. Imagine a mirror that you put on your dressing table and you can actually use it to wipe your face, it will tell you what kind of skincare products you need, and you can even use it to watch like a YouTube video while you’re doing your thing. Skin care at the same time. Perfect for me. I totally use that all the time. The third concept here is a small transparent LED. Now Samsung launched this last year, but this year they are showing more applications for it. So there are some things you can see through the screen like the frame in the background. There is a micro. The transparent LED display itself is kind of a concept of how that would work, and again, this is a fully transparent display that’s not available for sale this year and probably not anytime soon, but it’s a really cool idea of being able to see right through that display and put want behind it. This is a look at Samsung’s TVs for 2025, both those that will ship this year, and a range of TVs and a range of displays from the world’s largest display maker, but it’s what you can expect. Here I am at CES 2025. If you like what you saw, be sure to like and subscribe.
