Mohamed Salah scored twice to lead Egypt to the World Cup with a 3-0 win over Djibouti, the third African team to book their place.
Egypt will play in their fourth World Cup finals, while Cape Verde Islands and Ghana are one step closer to joining them.
Liverpool striker Salah scored two goals after Ibrahim Adel opened the scoring, making Egypt lead Group A, ahead of Burkina Faso, which beat Sierra Leone 1-0 away.
But the small Cape Verdean side will have to wait another five days before they get the last chance to secure their place in the World Cup finals for the first time ever after drawing 3-3 away in a thrilling Group D match in Libya.
Ghana, which reached the quarter-finals in 2010, maintained its three-point advantage over Madagascar in Group I after defeating the Central African Republic 5-0 in Meknes, while Madagascar won 2-1 over the Comoros amid heavy rain in Abidjan.
Ghana needs just one point from its final group match against Comoros in Accra on Sunday.
