Fighting

• The death toll from a large -scale Russian attack on Kiev earlier this week increased to 28, with 130 injuries, although rescue work is still ongoing.
• The attack was carried out by 440 drones and 32 missiles, according to Ukrainian President Folodimir Zelinski.
• Moscow described the attack as accurate strikes on “military industrial facilities in the Kiev region”, although the video clips showed parts of the attack settlement in a residential bloc in the Ukrainian capital.
• Russia said it had acquired the village of Novomicolayevka in the northeastern region of Ukraine, where Russian forces renewed their attack. The area was in the fighting center since the Russian invasion in 2022.

• Speaking to the foreign media at a press conference late at night, Russian leader Vladimir Putin refused the concerns that he was planning to attack the NATO military alliance. He said that the military bloc and its rearmament did not threaten Russia.
• Putin said that Germany is a direct representative of the Ukraine war if Kyiv is supplied with Tauurus Cruise missiles. Earlier this month, the German Defense Ministry said it had not had plans to do so, despite the repeated requests from Ukraine.
• Putin also said that he does not consider Germany a “neutral state”, but it is “a party that supports Ukraine, and in some cases … as a university in this fight.”
