Russia launched its largest attack a month against Ukraine while the Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelinski US President Donald Trump and European leaders met at the White House.
The attack also comes after the Russian President Vladimir Putin A meeting with Trump in Alaska last Friday, during which Putin refused to stop the immediate shooting and demanded that Ukraine be abandoned by the eastern Donetsk region in exchange for ending the conflict that began to invade February 2022 by Moscow. Trump later said he had spoken by phone with Putin about the arrangements for a meeting between Russian President and Zelinski.
Ukraine Air Force said that Russia fired 270 drones and 10 missiles in Ukraine on Monday night until Tuesday, but 230 drones and six missiles were intercepted. The Air Force said that 40 drones and four missiles were hit through 16 sites, and the debris was said to have fallen on three locations.

“While the hard work of progress in peace was underway in Washington, DC … Moscow continued to do the opposite of peace: more strikes and destruction,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibha wrote on X.
The energy infrastructure in the central Politava region was a target of strikes, according to the Ministry of Energy in Ukraine. The injuries were not immediately released by officials.

“As a result of the attack, the fires erupted on a large scale,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that the oil and gas refining facilities were attacked, saying that the strikes were the latest “systematic terrorist attacks against energy infrastructure in Ukraine, which is a direct violation of international humanitarian law.”
The attack was the largest since Russia fired 309 drones and eight missiles in Ukraine on July 31, according to the Air Force.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that its forces were dropped 23 Ukrainian drones Monday night until Tuesday morning.

Both sides were targeting infrastructure, including oil facilities.
Zelenskyy criticized Moscow for the previous strikes on Monday before meeting at the White House, where at least 14 people were killed and dozens were injured.
“The Russian war machine continues to destroy souls despite everything. Putin will commit illustrative killings to keep pressure on Ukraine and Europe, as well as humiliation of diplomatic efforts. This is exactly the reason we are seeking help to end the killing,” he wrote on Monday morning on X.
