Estonia reinstated maritime traffic to prevent future accidents after Russia was detained from the Green Green.

The Estonian Foreign Ministry says Russia has detained a Greek oil tanker sailing under the Liberian flag because it left the Estonian port on a road previously agreed through Russian waters.

in statement The ministry, which was published on Sunday, added that the ship, The Green Gearsire, was taking a transportation road that was established in a deal between Russia, Estonia and Finland.

She added that the Baltic state will redirect traffic to and from Syliamia across the Estonian water to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“Today’s incident shows that Russia is still unexpectedly acting,” said Secretary of State Margos Taskin. He said, “I have informed our allies of the event,” referring to the other NATO members.

The Estonian Public Radio (EPB), cited the Transport Administration, stated that the Greek carrier was carrying a shipment of oil rock oil heading to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He added that such incidents have not occurred before.

EPB said that ships that leave Sillama usually move across Russian water to avoid Estonia’s laughter, which could be dangerous for larger carriers.

The accident occurred after the Estonian navy tried on Thursday to stop an unexpected tanker, which was said to be part of the Russian “shade” fleet of ships sailing across the Estonian water. Russia responded by sending a fighter plane to accompany the carrier and violated an airspace in Estonia.

The “shadow fleet” aims to help Moscow in maintaining crude oil exports to avoid Western sanctions imposed after its invasion of Ukraine.
