Rohit Sharma quietly declared his retirement from Test Cricket through Instagram on Wednesday (May 7), leaving a lot of amazed. But what caught everyone’s attention is the timing, as Rohit Sharma described the time in his career in the test just one day after a big event at the BCCI headquarters.

As Cricbuzz, a large ceremony was held at the BCCI headquarters to honor two of the greatest cricket legends in India – Sashin Tindolkar and Sonile Javascar – with custom rooms named after Tuesday May 6.

This event was attended by senior cricket officials, including the Chairman of the Ajet Ajarcar choice Committee, the head of BCCI Roger Benny, the Secretary Divajit Sikia, and the Granus Motors Abi Corvilla. But one prominent name was missing, and this is Rohit Sharma.

The Mumbai Indians had the IPL 2025 match later that evening against Gujabra, and Rohit was scheduled to play in this clash, but what was followed by leaving everyone stunned. Just one day after the ceremony, Rohit announced his retirement from the cricket test through a simple social media post.

The timing was shocked not only fans but also BCCI officials and even his teammates in the Indian team. Cricbuzz report revealed that Rohit informed the best BCCI officials via email on Wednesday evening. Interestingly, almost the same time, its Instagram post was shown, Ajit Agarkar was seen on a phone call at Cricket Club in India.

However, there is no confirmation of whether Agarkar is speaking to Rohit, but many of them wondered whether it had any relationship with the sudden retirement decision for the latter. But it is clear that the Indians chosen were shocked by the Rohit step, and they had no information until the advertisement.

There was a blow that the patriots may be considering changing leadership and may not have planned to keep Rohit as a test leader for the England tour. The sources indicate that while the specified discussed the England tour earlier in the week, there is no confirmation that the captain was even on the table.

However, the future of the Rohit leader’s future was expected to declare the test division directly, which is likely to happen around the IPL 2025.

Rohit Sharma Test Retirement linked to the IPL 2025 model?
