It reached 70 on July 19, 2025, and there was uncertainty about its continuation of the role due to the age limit set in the BCCI constitution.

It is worth noting that any 70 -year -old office holder is not qualified to fill the position, in accordance with the constitution approved by the Supreme Court.

This led to speculation that BCCI Rajeev Shukla Vice President will be promoted and responsible as president, at least on a temporary basis.

BCCI (AGM) annual meeting is scheduled to be held in September, and last month it was reported that Roger Beni could continue as temporary until the meeting was held.

The National Sports Law, Roger Beni, can continue to continue as head of BCCI up to 75

According to the latest PTI report, the National Sports Law that was passed in Parliament on Tuesday can help Roger Benny to continue as president of BCCI up to 75.

However, this will only happen when the BCCI unit members give it a green light. It is worth noting that 75 was appointed as the age of cutting off office holders in national sports federations, whose global bodies do not have any condition mentioned specifically, such as the International Criminal Court.

Also, the legal BCCI team passes through the National Sports Law, although it will not have any major impact on the council because it does not obtain grants from the government.

“Roger will continue until the meeting of the Board of Directors in September,” PTI.

The source said: “The national sports law has just been passed, so we have some time to study it and participate in an appropriate discussion before making any decision.”

He added: “There are other points of discussion in the draft law for sure, and all stakeholders, including senior players and training employees, will be consulted, especially because cricket will be played in the 2028 Olympics.”

The upcoming India team challenge – the Asian Cup 2025

The next big task in India is the next Asian Cup 2025, which will play in T20i format, with the hosting of matches by the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates).

The seventeenth edition of the Asian Cup will be played from September 9 to September 28, with eight teams participating. India, led by Syria, Yadaf, will enter the competition as a favorite due to the caliber of the players in the team.

India is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, while the group consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
