Ribel Wilson says that losing her weight made her “more diverse” in Hollywood

Wilson, whose daughter, Royce, welcomed the alternative mother in 2022, that her decision to play Lady Capolit in “Juliet and Romeo” was deeply affected by her journey to motherhood.

“I am not putting myself first. By being an actor, being a performer, as part of your job, you are a bit of self -absorbing. You just have to go to the opposite as soon as you have a child,” she explained. “I can’t leave the house. I have to always think about my daughter and what is good for her. I think this has really changed me in a positive way.”

Wilson was open to the motives behind the weight loss journey, and revealed that after the fertility doctor advised that weightlifting could improve her chances with artificial insemination, she committed to giving priority to her health.

However, the choice was not internationally supported. In fact, Wilson remembered the “a lot of decline” from within the industry, especially from her team, which could not understand the reason for her desire to lose weight when she “earned millions of dollars while playing a funny fat girl.”
