“The decision has been taken,” Amit Sija, the chief political analyst at Channel 12, quoted a senior official whose name was not revealed in the Netanyahu office as saying.
“Hamas will not make more hostages without complete surrender, and we will not surrender. If we do not act now, the hostages will starve to death and Gaza will remain under the control of Hamas.”
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the reported plans and called on the international community to “intervene urgently to prevent its implementation, whether it is a form of pressure, experimental balloons to measure international reactions, or real dangerous.”
Netanyahu’s office did not immediately respond to Al -Jazeera’s request for comment.
The reports come at a time when Netanyahu is scheduled to hold the Cabinet on the War on Tuesday to discuss the following steps for the Israeli army in Gaza, as its war in the besieged pocket approaches a mark for two years.
Netanyahu faces increasing international pressure to allow more humanitarian aid in Gaza and stop the war amid Palestinian death due to Israeli malnutrition and attacks.
