And in spite of The equalizer in the 93rd minute against Brentord on SaturdayJames is optimistic about Chelsea’s hopes of adding the European crown to the club’s World Cup title.
“The Champions League is the place to which the club belongs,” James told Chelsea.
“We are happy to return to playing against the best teams and competition in the best competitions, because we were not in this last two seasons.
“Chelsea’s arrest was always something that I dreamed of, especially in the Champions League. After I was here a while ago, seeing change and how we had to adapt, we are in a good position.
“We have finished last season very strong and I hope we can build on it. We don’t look at what others say; we can achieve anything as long as we understand and believe.
“We know that we can go away with our team. That’s all that matters.”
In the test that was presented by Bayern, James added: “They are always very strong. They are the European giant, and they have won the competition before and know what it takes. So, it will be a very difficult game.”
