RCMP Investigation of “networks” linked to the man accused of violating Russia’s sanctions

RCMP says there are continuous investigations into networks related to a Russian citizen who has been accused of illegally exporting goods to Russia.

Anton Trofimov, who lives in Toronto, was arrested on May 5 and was charged with one of the export of a commodity for Russia and one charge of exporting a commodity for Russia for the purpose of manufacturing weapons, according to the documents submitted in the Justice Court in Ontario.

The charges are reduced within the framework of federal economic measures (Russia) that was presented in 2014, which was modified to add more punishment penalties at the beginning of the full invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The 43 -year -old faces a charge under the criminal law for possessing the property revenues obtained by the crime. The accusations relate to an accident or incidents claiming that they occurred between July 17, 2022 and December 8, 2022.

CBC News reported TROFIMOV last week, but RCMP did not confirm the arrest until a press conference on Friday.

When he was asked on Friday about other investigations related to Canada’s sanctions on Russia, SUPT president. Chris Jalloud suggested that parts of the Trofimov network are still under investigation.

“The Canadian authorities continue to investigate this case locally here in Canada. There are definitely elements of his network, which remains in place,” Legel said. He said he would not clarify because of the ongoing investigations.

International issue

RCMP officers said on Friday that the investigation into Treofimov was over patriotism, including a number of ports outside Canada. Police said international police agencies, including the FBI, have participated.

RCMP claimed that Trofimov was collecting electronic components from all over the world and shipping them to Asia before shipping to Russia.

In addition to his home in Toronto, Trofimov has a home address in Hong Kong, Asia Passevik Leek, Ltd.-a company based in Hong Kong, which was punished by the United States and the United Kingdom, according to Open Hundss, a database that tracks international commercial violators.

She says the company is the largest resource for the accurate electronic components of Russian companies since the beginning of the war and that the components of Asia Pacific Links Ltd.

RCMP will not determine the components that TRFIMOV has shipped to Russia, but one of the officers at the press conference on Friday said that components can be used for civil or military purposes. RCMP said it was not known whether the ingredients were used in the Russian war effort.
