Ranji is a cup to be played in two phases, as BCCI unveils the local season, 2025-26

This stage was appointed for the local cricket season full of movement in India, where it was reported that the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) has ended the schedule of the 2025-26 season. With the red cricket game in the heart of the calendar, both Raji Trophy are set in two phases.

According to PTI journalist, the Indian local season will start 2025-26 with Duleep Trophy, which is scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 15, giving the chosen an early overview the shape and fitness of the players for international tasks.

BCCI reveals with a packed 2025-26 local cricket season

A few days later, the focus will be turned into an Iranian iconic Cup, which is scheduled to be held from October 1 to 5, when Ranji champions will fight the defense and the rest of India for the cup. After that, the first-class India-Ranji Trofi-lead position will occupy.

Ranji will play a cup in two phases this season as well. The first stage of the Red Football Championship will continue from October 15 to November 19, followed by a break before the second stage and the knockout, scheduled for January 22 and February 28.

During the break, white football championships will be shown in India, including Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in December and the Vijay Hazare Cup in January, by BCCI.

BCCI Restore Zonal for Dulep Trophy

Meanwhile, BCCI decided to re -coordinate the logic of the Duleep Cup of this season. Instead of four teams such as last year (India A, B, C and D), the tournament will now display six regions – north, south, east, west, center and northeast.

This change means that more local players will get a chance to display their talents, and more cricket players can be included in the teams. The decision was made during the meeting of the BCCI Apex Council in March, and it is now being implemented when the season begins.

Vidarbha is scheduled to start the Ranji season as defenders heroes

Well, Vidarbha raised the Ranji Cup in the 2024-25 season after beating Kerala in the final match in Nagpur. However, the match ended in a tie, but Vidarbha 37 advanced in the first rounds was sufficient to secure the title, according to the championship rules.
