One of the prosecutors says that the eldest son of the Princess of Crown Prince Norway was charged with 32 crimes, including four rape charges.
The charges against Marius Burg Hobby, 28, include abuse of a former partner and violations of restrictions on orders against another previous partner.
He was born from a relationship before Crown Prince Mareit married Prince Hawoun, the future king of Norway.
His lawyer Peter Sekolich told Reuters that it denies the most dangerous accusations against him, but he intends to acknowledge guilty on some less charges when the trial begins.
He may face imprisonment for up to 10 years if he is convicted of the most dangerous charge.
He was also accused of photographing the genitals of a number of women without their knowledge or consent.
“He does not agree with allegations related to rape and domestic violence,” Sekolich said of his client.
Speaking of the charges against his wife, the Norwegian Crown Prince Hakoun said on Tuesday that the matter is up to the courts what will happen, adding that everyone who participates in the case “may find her challenge and difficult.”
It is said that the alleged four rapes occurred between 2018 and 2024, as it was claimed that one of them had occurred after his arrest, according to NRK.
Mr. Hkyby, who has no royal title or official duties, was arrested three separate times last year, in August, September and November. He was under investigation since his arrest in August on suspicion of attack. In June, the police said he was suspected of three rape and 23 other crimes.
The prosecutor said the trial could take place in January and last for about six weeks.
