Amazon expanded its e-reader lineup a few months ago with the Kindle Colorsoft, its first model with a color display. However, at $280, it was definitely pricier — especially compared to similar devices from competitors. This equation has changed a bit, at least for Amazon Prime members. They are currently able to do so .
This equates to a discount of 18 percent. It’s the first time Amazon has reduced the price of Colorsoft, although you need to be a Prime member to take advantage of the deal.

There were some issues initially with Colorsoft, with reports that some customers were seeing a yellow bar at the bottom of their screen. This issue appeared in our review unit as well. Amazon has offered refunds or replacements for affected devices.
The company sent us a second review unit that didn’t have the yellow bar. The screen feels warmer overall too, making it look more like the pages of a physical book. We have So we can test the replacement unit for a longer period and make sure the yellow band problem does not reoccur.
Pages turn quickly on the 7-inch screen, which has a density of 300 pixels per inch for black-and-white material and 150 pixels per inch for color content. The device has 32GB of built-in storage and supports Audible audiobooks. The Kindle Colorsoft will run for up to eight weeks on a single charge and you can charge the battery wirelessly or via USB-C.
The e-reader is IPX8 rated. It can withstand submersion in up to two meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes, and 0.25 meters of seawater for three minutes, according to Amazon. So, you can take your Kindle Colorsoft to the pool or beach without worrying about it getting wet.
There is a pinch to zoom feature which should be useful for those who read graphic novels on Colorsoft. The auto-adjusting headlight is also useful. Another major plus is that, unlike other Kindle models, Colorsoft doesn’t show lock screen ads by default.
