Pressing the government to review trade relations with Türkiye, Azerbaijan; There is no decision yet

In the midst of calls to suspend commercial relations, India reviews its trade relations with Türkiye and Azerbaijan, but it is unlikely to relate to a full comment, which it did in the case of Pakistan. According to official sources, so far, there is no ban on trade with Türkiye, but a decision will be taken on an appropriate time.

This comes in the wake of the PAALGAM attack with Türkiye and Azerbaijan support Pakistan after the military strikes by India as part of the Sindoor operation.

After the Pahalgam terrorist attack that led to the death of 26 civilians, India banned all trade with Pakistan, including a ban on all imports that arise from or through Pakistan through Pakistan.

There were calls for similar restrictions on trade with Türkiye and Azerbaijan. On Friday, at a national conference for trade leaders held by the Union of all India’s traders (CAIT), more than 125 senior trade leaders from all over the country decided to boycott all forms of commercial and commercial participation with Turkey and Azerbaijan, including travel and tourism.

Crude oil, gold, aircraft, granite, marble and fruits, such as apples, are some of the main imports in India from Türkiye, while exports include aluminum products, car components, aircraft and communication tools.

In recent years, India’s trade with Turkey was declining after touching the peak in the 23rd year. According to official data, the total exports of India to Turkey between April 2024 and February 2025 decreased by 14.8 % to 5.21 billion dollars, while imports were contracted by 17.25 % to 2.8 billion dollars.

India trade with Azerbaijan is less. India’s exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $ 86.07 million in April to February 2024-25, while imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $ 1.93 million in this period. Main exports from India to Azerbaijan tobacco, coffee and tea include animal feed, organic chemicals, essential oils and perfumes.
