Pep Guardiola & Erling Haland Clash on the causes of Man City collapse

Manchester City Erling Halland striker claimed that the team’s dramatic decrease this season was due to the “lack of hunger” from the team.

While City ended the campaign strongly, the middle of the season was scattered with miserable performance and shock defeats, including only one victory in 13 games between October and December.

Halland’s comments were placed on director Pep Guardiola before the Premier League clash on Saturday with Southampton on the bottom side. His boss admitted his surprise because he challenged his players to find out a reason that allowed them to drop their standards.

“If this is a feeling of Erling, the players must talk to each other and ask themselves why,” he said.

“We can do what is better. We are happy with the results that we have, but the situation is that we must maintain it for several months, it has passed only three or four weeks.”

Haland is one of the many city players who have missed a large period of the campaign through injury. The Norwegian striker has not turned into his team since March, but he is ready for his return in the last weeks of the season.

“I feel good and move well and I am ready.”
