Patreon changes her business modelNew creators will soon feel the difference. Starting this summer, Patreon will increase the percentage you take from the newly launched creative accounts. While the current creators will keep their current revenue share, those who join the platform after the change will abandon a larger part of their profits to Patriion.

As of now, Patreon takes an 8 % reduction or cut 12 % of creators, depending on the chosen layer, although the 8 % plan is the most popular. The new pricing model will offer one world layer that takes 10 % of the profits of creators.

If you have ever listened to Podcast on Spotify or YouTube Video, you may have heard that the host reminds something about “joining Patreon” and creating the exclusive content published there. Patreon is an organic platform founded in 2013 that allows creators to earn a frequent income directly from their fans, or “beneficiaries”, through paid subscriptions. Creators can provide exclusive content, privileges or access to monthly support.

Patriion says the amendment reflects investments in new tools, safety features and creative infrastructure. This represents the first major change in the Patreon fee structure since its renovation 2019, which has made gradient plans. The update will not affect the current users, but it may affect the place where creators in the future choose to build their societies and invest their work.

The new pricing will only apply to creators who call the Patreon page to or after August 4, so if you think about making Patreon, it’s time now.
