Parts of the “Silicon Valley” in India were flooded after heavy rains

Parts of the southern Indian city of Bangaluru, which is often called the silicon valley in India underwater after heavy rains.

But officials are criticizing social media with many complaints of dilapidated infrastructure in the city and covered roads.

Annu Itty, who lived in the city for eight years, told BBC that the city’s infrastructure becomes especially fragile in the monsoons.

“Ironically said that the newly developed areas – those that were built to house the booming technology sector – are facing the worst floods,” she said.
