The government has completed the appointment of Pankaj Dwivedi as CEO of the Indian Union Bank, which is in effect immediately. He was directed to return to Punjab and Sind Bank, where he previously held the position of general manager before joining Union Bank in March 2024.
“We would like to inform you that the central government … has canceled the appointment of a Duvidy Shri as an executive director of the Indian Bank, and thus stopped the bank’s executive director has an immediate impact,” and the bank mentioned in the exchange note. The bank has not cited any reason for the government’s decision.
In August 2024, the Delhi Supreme Court raised serious questions about his appointment despite the presence of a truck leaf hanging for sexual harassment. The court heard a lawsuit on the public interest (PIL) submitted by the woman who directed the allegations against him.
PIL stabbed Duvidi on the basis that it exceeded the clearance of mandatory vigilance, a major condition for higher publications in public sector banks. The petition was argued by lawyer Brashant Bohn, who indicated that the appointment of an official faces a paper, and without a statement from the Central Woding Committee (CVC), he violated the known standards that govern the appointments in the pledges of the public sector.
A member of the department’s department, which includes the head of the judges, Acting Manouhhan and Judge Tosh Rao Gao, issued an official notice in response to the petition. The seat expressed concern about how to allow this date to follow up in the absence of a clean vigilance report, highlighting the importance of transparency and deception due to the highest public dates.
Duvidi has been appointed to the CEO for a period of three years starting from March 27, 2024. It appears that the court audit and questions about procedural lapses have resulted in the cancellation of his date and his role in its previous role in Benzkb & Senz.
The issue drew attention to the importance of vigilance scrutiny in government dates and high -level public sector, especially in cases that involve serious allegations. The additional procedures on this issue are expected to be revealed in the Delhi Supreme Court.
