Kamath’s bet on Akshayakalpa, an organic dairy company from a farm to a house founded by Shashi Kumar. What attracted it? The renewal cultivation model that pays the organic content of the soil (SOC) from 0.3 %-the national average and the proximity of circular levels-to 2.5 % in some spots.

“This is to a large extent our best investments,” Kamath posted on X, sharing photos and data from Akshayakalpa Farms. “The practices they teach from farmers are rebuilding soil – and they are really the real farm wealth.”

Why doing is vital: it improves water retention, supplies nutrients, and supports microbial life. “When SOC decreases to less than 0.5 %, you look at the desert -like conditions where nothing grows without pumping fertilizers.” The average SOC in the European Union is 1.8 %, making Akshayakalpa’s gains more surprising.

The graph that Kamath shared shows that the farmer under the Akshayakalpa system not only produces more milk-between 140,000 liters per farm-but also a lower carbon, with low emissions per liter from 2.56 to 1.41 kg of carbon dioxide/kilogram of FPCM category with an increase in the duration of the cultivation.

While Kamath does not mention trade directly, the graph raises wider effects. The heavy export basket in India still faces the harsh opposite winds in the United States, with more than 55 % of shipments-stagnant sectors such as dairy, seafood and textiles-through high tariffs, many of the emerging of the Tramp era.

This contrast-between high-performance farms, emissions and the punitive commerce environment-illuminates the global importance of renewal agriculture. Kamat, the challenge, notes the size: “Can this be done through more farms – and did it properly?”
