OpenVIBEapplication It allows you to follow open social networks Like Bluesky, Mastodon, SubjectsAnd Nostr in one place, now it expands its functions so that you can follow your favorite news sites and blogs as well. To do this, it adds the start starting support to the RSS (also known as Syndication Syndation or News Peeds), an open standard that allows you to subscribe to automatic updates from web sites, such as new articles or blog publications.

This OpenVIBE addition makes more useful to keep pace with your interests and other important information without having to switch between multiple news leaders, websites or social networking applications.

The new feature also put OpenVIBE in more direct competition with social media complexes and other content that follows updates from all over the open web. They include these competitors textureThe new application from the company that was once built a famous Twitter page, known as Twitterfic; FeesRSS reader supports personal file tracking on Mastodon, YouTube and other platforms; and SurfingFlipboard.

OpenVibe Matej Svancer says RSS’s support has always been part of the long -term road map since its launch last year. However, the user base has requested this feature significantly, so the team gave priority to its development.

To use the feature, you can choose to add RSS sources one by one, check the proposed sites of the application and click on “Continue” on the one you want to track, or import a full OPML file from another news reader. After more people are adopting RSS, OpenVIBE will present the leading board that displays the most added conclusions to help direct users to common sources.

Once added, you can track the RSS updates in the compact home feeding of the application, in the custom “RSS” feeding, or you can add RSS extracts to your custom sum.

Although RSS can also be used to track Podcasts and YouTube channels, OpenVIBE is not yet focused on these formats, says Svancer Techcrunch. It may be technically possible to add it in the application today, but it will not provide a good user experience, unless you do not mind opening each element in a browser.

However, with news and blogs, OpenVIBE opens the content directly inside the app using a clean and distraction reading mode. If you prefer to visit the websites in the browser, you can change this setting.

In addition, the application provides a “performance mode” application that will turn off the download of images in the timeline to make the feature less intense in resources.

The company tests the RSS feature before launch with slightly more than 100 people who gathered together, adding more than 4000 summits.

RSS support is now available in OpenVIPE IOS and Android applications. The application itself remains free to download without purchases within the application at the present time, but the company plans to make a subscription offer in the future.
