Openai launches a new way for developers to build applications inside ChatGPT. Starting with the two, Chatgpt users will be able to access interactive applications from companies such as Booking.com, Expedia, Spotify, Figma, Coursera, Zillow and Canva. Openai also launches a preview of SDK applications, a tool collection facing the developer to build these applications.
Openai announced this at the annual developer conference, Devday 2025.
“We want Chatgpt to be a great way for people to make progress, to be more productive, more creative, to learn faster, and do everything they are trying to do in their lives better,” said CEO Sam Al -Tamman. “(Applications within Chatgpt) will enable a new generation of interactive, adaptive and personal applications, which you can chat with.”
The new system is the latest attempt by Openai to build an ecosystem for applications around the leading AI product, ChatGPT. The launch follows the previous Openai attempts to allow developers to build interactive applications, such as through GPT store. Unlike this product, which was a separate app store, the launch of Monday puts applications directly in Chatgpt responses and allows users to call third -party tools in their daily conversations. This gives developers a better distribution of the applications they create and aims to make a richer experience for users in Chatgpt.
By writing different applications in Chatgpt, users can draw content from a variety of services. For example, users can say, “Figma, converting this scheme into a practical planning drawing” to call the Figma application. Users can also call Coursera by question, “Coursera, can you teach me something about machine learning?”
In a zillow application display, users can claim a ChatgPT to the natural language to search for apartments in their area within the scope of a specific price. Then Chatgpt pulled an interactive map showing the options, and users can talk to Chatgpt to learn more about each of them.

ChatGPT will also have relevant apps when it is useful for the user. If someone requests a party for a party this week, Chatgpt may contact the Spotify app in the conversation. In the future, Openai says that applications like Doordash, Instacart, Uber and Alltrails will be available in Chatgpt as well.

Openai says the new system is designed using the MCP context protocol, which allows developers to connect their data sources to the artificial intelligence system. Chatgpt applications can also operate procedures and provide a fully interactive user interface in Chatbot responses. Some applications can display videos in Chatgpt, which will be installed on the top of the web page and can be changed based on user requests.
If users are already subscribed to a product, they will be able to log in to their account in Chatgpt to access certain features. Altman also says that Openai will support ways to achieve income from applications within the future Chatgpt, including by launching the company recently The immediate exit Feature in ChatGPT.
The main questions about the applications in Chatgpt will be privacy, and the amount of data that third -party developers will be able to access. Openai says that developers should “collect the minimum data they need only, and be transparent about permissions.” However, it is unclear whether developers can access the entire user conversation with ChatGPT or past few messages or just the claim that called the application.
It is also not clear how ChatGPT will choose a service between competing companies, such as Doordash and Instacart. One can imagine how companies can pay to be displayed in ChatGPT responses, but Openai says they are planning to determine the priorities of the user experience above all.
