“One tragedy, and people lose perspective”: Sanjif Kapoor is defending

Sanjiv Kapoor, former CEO of the Aviation Industry and former CEO of Jet Airways Sanjiv Kapoor, attended Air India where the national carrier faces general criticism in the wake of the deadly journey of the AI-171 in Ahmed Abad. The accident, which included Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, led to the loss of more than 260 lives after the plane hit the youth house shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallahai Patel International Airport. Kapoor, who was responding to the public demands for a ban on India, urged people to maintain a perspective on this tragedy.

The accident sent a shock through the aviation sector in India, where the accident achieved the worst flight in the country in more than a decade. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) conducts an investigation into the accident, with an initial report expected soon. Earlier, Air India increased insurance coverage to buy delicious Dreamliner from 750 rupees to 850 rupees, while the total claim is estimated at about 3000 rupees. This important financial impact reflects the intensity of the accident and its effects on the aviation insurance industry.

In the light of the accident, Kapoor pointed out, “Against! Kapoor also stressed the global safety record at Boeing 787, saying: “Perhaps because even the AI-171 tragedy, Boeing 787 had transferred more than 5 million trips since its launch without crashing or death? These notes come amid a large audit in Air India operations, especially after the cancellation of 66 international flights scheduled for the Boeing 787-8 plane.

The airline explained that all cancels were not due to safety concerns, which attributes some to routine and other technical obstacles to operational challenges. Despite the cancellation, the DRAMLINER fleet did not focus but confirmed the cancellation since the collapse. Air India confirms that the plane underwent a comprehensive maintenance examination in June 2023, and was scheduled for another contract for December. This pre -emptive approach emphasizes the commitment of the airline to safety and operational efficiency.

The flight tragedy remains under investigation, as the right engine of the 12 -year -old plane was fixed in March 2025. While the airline is waiting for the results of DGCA, Kapoor’s defense of Air India highlights the broader context of the safety of airline and operational challenges determined by carriers all over the world. The continuous investigation will be extremely important in identifying factors that lead to disruption and ensure future safety measures.
