Officials say Russian strikes kill eight across Ukraine

Regional officials said at least eight people were killed and more than 30 years were wounded throughout Ukraine in the attacks of drones overnight.

Three deaths were reported in the Kyiv region, and one in the southern city of Micoles. Four other deaths have been reported in the western Khamilitsky region of Ukraine.

It comes a day after Kyiv was exposed One of the heavier attacks since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the air defense units had dropped or assaulted 95 Ukrainian drones over a number of Russian regions, including Moscow, during the four hours of Saturday evening.

Russian officials have not reported any victims. The drone attack forced a brief comment for all flights at Moscow airports.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and Moscow is currently controlling about 20 % of Ukrainian lands.

This includes Crimea – the southern Peninsula of Ukraine, which was included in Russia in 2014.

In a statement on Telegram, the regional Kyi Kalashnyk regional president said that three people were killed in Russian attacks and wounded 10 others.

Kalashnyk posted pictures of several homes that set fire after Russian strikes.

In the capital KYIV, local officials reported 11 injuries, multiple fires and damage to residential buildings, including the loot.

Hundreds of people were seen veiled at the underground stations of the city metro. It comes at a time when the capital is the annual KYIV holiday on Sunday.

In mykolaiv, the government emergency service in Ukraine DSNS said that the body of an elderly man was withdrawn from a five -storey residential building struck by a drone. Five other people were injured.

In Kharkif, the regional authorities reported three injuries.

In Russia, the Ministry of Defense said that Ukrainian drones targeted eight Russian regions.

“From 20:00 Moscow time (17:00 GMT) on May 24 to 00:00 on May 25, the Ministry of Air Defense destroyed service and intercepted 95 Ukrainian air vehicles,” the ministry said in a statement.

Moscow mayor Serge Sobianin said that 12 drones are heading towards the capital.

He added that emergency services crews were published to assess the damage caused by the decrease in the drone.
