Nicole (yes, with two L’s!) is a 64-year-old yoga instructor from Miami Beach, who began her journey Mel OwensSeason 1 started off with classic villain freeing behavior. She aggressively tried to steal a face-to-face with Mel, 66, and shamelessly tackled him in front of other women at pool parties.
However, on the ABC show’s Wednesday, October 8, episode, she set the record straight by saying she wasn’t on the show for — gasp! – The right reasons.

Listen, we’re not saying it’s a new concept for Bachelorette/Bachelorette contestants (of any age) to be looking for some fame after appearing on reality TV, but the least they can do is pretend they’re interested in starring!
In fact, the winners of most pairs across the series admit they weren’t entirely convinced the show would work (and/or were more invested in traveling, making friends, or yes, showing up) but at least they gave it a try and can say that finding love (albeit often temporary) was a bonus.
And if Nicole committing the Bachelor sin wasn’t enough, later in the episode, she took full credit for the lemon bars that several members of the group made for Mel. In the words of Stephanie Tanner (she has two adult children, and I’m sure she’s watched a few episodes of… Full house) – How rude!
While we’ll have to wait and see how Nicole reacts to the show fully revealing her poignant dreams (I hope she learns her lemon bar recipe if she’s planning on sharing one!), and her comments about the backlash to her actions in the first few episodes (which again, are harmless and classic if you ask we!) indicates that she won’t be too worried.
“In the end, I didn’t give up,” she said. “I really didn’t do it. I was having fun. It’s my journey. It’s my story, and they should have their story. And I honestly feel like they were really jealous.”
