The Tennessee Titans have fired head coach Brian Callahan after a poor start to the season, leaving the team at the bottom of the AFC South.

The Giants’ 20-10 defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday brought their record to 1-5, after they also lost to the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans.

Tennessee ended a four-game losing streak to start the season with a one-point win over the Arizona Cardinals at the beginning of October, but a recent loss to the Raiders proved to be Callahan’s last.

The Raiders’ defeat was the Titans’ fourth loss by at least 10 points this season, the most for any team.

“These decisions are never easy, and they become even more difficult when people of great character are involved,” the Titans statement said.

“We are grateful for Brian’s investment in the Titans and Tennessee community during his tenure as head coach.

“We thank him and his family for being exemplary ambassadors for the Tennessee Titans

He added: “Our players, fans and community deserve a football team that achieves a standard that we do not currently achieve, and we are committed to making the difficult decisions necessary to reach and maintain that standard.”

Callahan coached the Giants in 23 games overall, compiling a terrible 4-19 record.

Tennessee has not hired an interim coach yet.

The Nashville-based team’s struggles have come despite Cam Ward being the No. 1 overall pick in the draft as the starting quarterback.

The Giants face the New England Patriots next Sunday.

Former Titans coach Mike Vrabel — who was fired by Tennessee in January 2024 after six seasons at the helm — takes over for the Patriots, who are 4-2 this year.
