Netanyahu says Canada, UK, France “Encourage” Hamas – National

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the leaders of France, Britain and Canada of the desire to help the Palestinian armed group Hamas after they threatened to take “concrete measures” if Israel did not stop its recent attack in Gaza.

Criticism was chanted by similar statements from Foreign Minister Gideon Sair on Thursday, part of the Israeli government’s fight against the growing international pressure on the conflict in Gaza.

Netanyahu said: “You are on the wrong side of humanity and you are on the wrong side of history.”

With the continued flow of images of destruction and hunger in Gaza, which sparked protests in countries all over the world, Israel has struggled to transform global opinion, which has increased against it.

“It is difficult to persuade at least some people, certainly on the far left in the United States and in some countries in Europe, is the defense war,” said former Yaki Dayan in some countries in Europe.

“But this is how it is realized in Israel and this gap is sometimes impossible,” he said.

Israeli officials have been particularly concerned about the increasing calls of European countries, including France, to follow up on others such as Spain and Ireland in identifying the Palestinian state, as part of a state solution to resolve contracts of conflict in the region.

Netanyahu argues that a Palestinian state will threaten Israel and framing the killing of two employees of the Israeli embassy in Washington on Tuesday by a man claiming to be “free Palestine” as a clear example of this threat.

“Exactly the same chant,” he said during the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023.

“They do not want a Palestinian state. They want to destroy the Jewish state.”

“I can never understand how this simple fact is evading the leaders of France, Britain, Canada and others,” he said, adding that any movements by Western countries to recognize a Palestinian state “are equivalent to these killers with the final award.”

He said instead of peace, the three leaders “encouraged Hamas to continue fighting forever.”

The Israeli leader, whose government relies on supporting the extremist right, said that Hamas, who issued a statement welcoming this step, thanked French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer and Mark Carne in Canada about what he said he asked for an immediate end to the conflict.

The leadership statement on Monday did not demand an immediate end to the conflict, but the new military attack of Israel on Gaza stopped and raised its restrictions on humanitarian aid. Israel has prevented assistance from entering Gaza since March, before the siege was relaxed this week.

Netanyahu said: “By issuing their request – full of sanctions against Israel, against Israel, and not Hamas – these three leaders said they really want Hamas to remain in power.”

“They give them hope for the establishment of a second Palestinian state from which Hamas seeks again to destroy the Jewish state.”

French Foreign Minister Jean -Nula Barrot said France, which was like Britain and Canada, is appointed Hamas as a terrorist organization, “is uncomplicated in Israeli security.”

He said that he was determined to fight anti -Semitism and that he was “ridiculous and bound” to accuse supporters of two states of encouraging anti -Semitism or Hamas.

When asked about Netanyahu’s statements, British Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard said that London stood with Israel against self -defense, “but self -defense must be made within the limits of international humanitarian law.”

“At this moment, we stand quickly against terrorism, but we also want to make sure that the aid arrives in Gaza,” he said to the Times.
