As the air defenses in Ukraine extend, the patriots are urgently needed. However, as it was always, Trump was mysterious about providing new munitions – and could change his opinion or forget easily.

There is also some deficiency – especially in the numbers of Ukrainian forces – that Western allies in the country cannot reform. Russia is now believed to have lost more than a million soldiers, who were killed or wounded, in the conflict. But the Ukrainian losses were heavy, and Russia’s population is about four times greater than Ukraine.

But there is little belief among European policy makers that Russia is in any mood to agree to a ceasefire. One of the officials in a good position believes that the central goal of Russia now is to seize Odessa-which Vladimir Putin considers a historic Russian city. Without Odesa, Ukraine will lose access to its main port.

A group of former European leaders – including Karl Bilde from Sweden and Sana Marin from Finland – visited Ukraine recently and chose the deteriorating mood. They wrote after that “While the Ukrainians will never stop resistance, without more military support, Ukraine can lose more lands. More cities may be arrested.” Outside of the record, some Western officials are more severe, and they warn of the danger of “catastrophic failure”, if the Ukrainian army is extended to the point of collapse – and does not receive a significant increase in military and financial aid from its Western allies.

Of course, wars are unpredictable and mood can be transformed. Some in the West argue that Ukraine can keep alone next year. They claim that despite the tremendous efforts and losses, Russia only succeeded in capturing 0.25 percent of Ukrainian territory over the past year. Optimists argue that the experience of the Ukrainians in the drone warfare made it impossible for large groups of Russian forces to collectively advance. They also argue that – even if Russia penetrates the Ukrainian lines – it lacks mechanical divisions to take advantage of the achievement.

It has been proven that the wisdom received is wrong several times before in this war. But if the growing pessimism between those who follow the Ukraine war is closely justified, then any feelings of feeling satisfied by the NATO summit may disappear soon. NATO Secretary -General is known for its optimistic nature and permanent smile. But even Roiti can struggle to maintain a smile by the end of the year.
